MANILA, Philippines—The body of a mentally unstable woman, who allegedly jumped into the Pasig River in Manila, was fished out before noon Wednesday of the water several hours after her plunge.

Police Officer 3 Jupiter Tajonera, of the Manila Police District Homicide Section, described the body of the unidentified woman to be between 25 and 30 years old, of heavy build, and wearing a blue shirt worn and a pair of white floral pajamas.

Tajonera said that several days before her death, the woman had been seen by residents in the area wandering along Muelle del Rio in Binondo, talking to herself and behaving strangely. She was last seen at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday by witness Tito Murillo, who was drinking liquor by himself on the boardwalk before she suddenly jumped into the river.
