MANILA, Philippines — The 5.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Davao de Oro on Tuesday affected more than 2,900 families and injured 60 others, the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) reported on Thursday.

OCD Joint Information Center Head Diego Agustin Mariano said 1,800 families are in evacuation centers.

Ito po ay composed of family food packs, tents, and treating kits,” he said in a public briefing.

Mariano also reported that the earthquake caused P42 million in the region and injured 60 people. There was a power interruption in Davao de Oro but it has been restored, he added.

Currently, the OCD listed 8 roads that were permanently damaged.

The OCD also asked that citizens participate in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill being held on Thursday.
