Palace promotes 98 PSG personnel to higher ranks
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 98 personnel of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) have been promoted and been donned their ranks.
The PSG said Brig. Gen. Ramon Zagala led the donning of ranks to newly promoted personnel at the Malacañang Park on March 2, Thursday.
A total of 98 personnel were promoted, of which 12 were officers and 52 were members of the Philippine Army and 34 were from the Philippine Air Force.
The PSG said the activity “aims to recognize the newly promoted personnel for their sacrifice in securing the people and the country as well as its primordial duty of protecting the President and its first family.”
It is also aimed at boosting the morale and welfare of PSG personnel “to become more effective in their respective tasks.”

“Being promoted to the next higher rank does not only carry the pride and honor of stepping up into the military career ladder, but it is also indicative of the personnel’s competencies, commitment in the service, and most importantly, character,” Zagala said, as quoted by the PSG.
I expect that you will continue to pursue excellence as VIP protectors and in your respective tasks and duties. I trust that you level your performance commensurate to your hard-earned promotion,” he added.
Zagala further told promoted PSG personnel to maintain their devotion to duty and continue to enhance their skills.
