Benito Techico named special envoy to China for trade, investments, tourism
MANILA, Philippines — Benito Techico has been appointed as the special envoy of the President to the People’s Republic of China for trade, investments, and tourism.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Techico took his oath of office before President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday.
“Sa kanyang bagong tungkulin, si Techico ay maglilingkod bilang kinatawan ng bansa sa China sa mga usapin na may kinalaman sa kalakalan, pamumuhunan, at turismo,” the PCO said in a Facebook post.
(In his new role, Techico will serve as the representative of the Philippines to China in discussions involving trade, investments and tourism.)
“Inaasahang makikipagtulungan din siya sa mga opisyal ng pamahalaan, mga lider sa negosyo, at iba pang mahalagang stakeholder upang magpromote at mapabuti ang ekonomikong kooperasyon sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa,” it added.

Prior to his appointment, Techico served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Philippine Blue Cross Biotech Corporation.
