MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) off Mindanao entered the boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, the state weather bureau said.

In its latest weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last spotted at 925 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao.

The LPA, however, remains less likely to develop into a tropical depression.

However, this weather disturbance is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over Davao Region, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City), Caraga Region, Eastern Visayas, and Palawan.

“Under said conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible, especially in areas that are highly very highly susceptible to these hazards,” Pagasa said in its advisory.
