MANILA, Philippines —  Cloudy skies and rain will prevail over some parts of the country on Sunday due to the effects of several weather systems, including a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa.)

According to Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja in their latest forecast, the LPA was last spotted 1,710 kilometers east southeast of Mindanao outside PAR as of 3:00 a.m. in the morning.

“Sa susunod na dalawang araw, mababa ang tiyansa na ito ay maging isang bagyo subalit magsisimula na itong magpaulan ngayong araw dito sa may Eastern Mindanao,” said Estareja.

Due to the LPA’s trough, cloudy skies and rain should be expected over Caraga Region, as well as Davao Oriental, while scattered rain showers will prevail over Eastern Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao and Visayas, on the other hand, will have relatively fairer weather with chances of cloudy skies and rain unrelated to the LPA.
