23 crime suspects nabbed in Zambales

At least 23 crime suspects were arrested in a series of police operations in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 23 crime suspects were arrested in a series of police operations in this province, authorities said Tuesday.

Based on a report from the provincial police, 13 of those arrested from January 23-29 were fugitives. They were facing cases for violating anti-hazing laws, illegal drugs, illegal logging, adultery, physical injuries, and robbery.

Police said their weeklong operations also resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects and the confiscation of a total of 1.50 grams of alleged “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P10,200.

The lawmen also collared eight more suspects in a crackdown on illegal gambling.

All suspects were placed in police custody while awaiting charges or court hearings.
