Former President Duterte offers P500,000 reward to solve hit-and-run case
DAVAO CITY — Former President Duterte is dangling P500,000 to solve a case of a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old working student.
In his program “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa” over SMNI, the television network of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Duterte said Monday that he would give the reward to “an eyewitness who would be able to describe (the vehicle) or give us the plate number of the vehicle” that killed Ana Mae Talili. 21.
The former President said he would need the plate number of the vehicle so that the driver could be arrested.
Both he and Quiboloy believed a close circuit television footage in the area could be used in tracing down the person responsible for the death of Talili, a working student, who died when a white pickup bumped the motorcycle she was riding at midnight on Jan. 26.
Talili, a second-year college student working as a cashier in a business establishment in Matina Town Square, was the passenger of the motorcycle when a pickup vehicle bumped it along McArthur Highway in Matina.
