Tesda eyes 1.8 million trainees for 2023
MANILA, Philippines — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) is targeting to enroll 1.8 million trainees from their various technical vocational (tech-voc) courses this year.
“The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority is eyeing to train around 1.8 million Filipinos in various technical vocational courses in 2023,” the agency said in a statement over the weekend.
According to the agency, it is committed to improving its numbers regarding enrolled, graduated, assessed, and certified Technical and Vocational Education and Training scholars.
Tesda is eyeing to surpass the 1,231,289 enrollees who have graduated from their courses. Out of the said number, 844,368 were certified as skilled workers.
The graduates were produced by 183 Tesda technology institutions, 250 public TVET providers, and 4,197 privately-run tech-voc institutions nationwide.
