PCG rescues 18 passengers of distressed boat off Iloilo City

MANILA, Philippines — Eighteen passengers of a distressed motor banca were rescued by personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Iloilo.

In its report on Sunday, the PCG said the motorbanca Prince and Mae encountered engine trouble between Carles Island and Gigantes Island in Iloilo.

The PCG said local residents located the distressed boat at around 01:18 p.m. It then dispatched a rescue team and towed the motor banca to Barangay Lantangan, Carles, Iloilo for repair.

All passengers of the boat  were all reported to be in “good physical condition,” the PCG said.
