MANILA, Philippines—The license of a bus driver was revoked after being tested positive for use of illegal drugs, a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Tuesday.

The report said the Land Transportation Office (LTO) confiscated the license of a driver at the Araneta Center bus terminal, whose identity was withheld, after being found positive for use of illegal drugs following a random drug test in the terminal Monday.

LTO Traffic Enforcement Division Director Edgar Cabase was quoted as saying that the driver, who was tested positive for drugs, drives the trip from Manila to Bicol province and vice versa for the Holy Week.

The report said the driver admitted using drugs to allegedly stay awake during his trips.

Meanwhile, two “colorum” or out-of-line public utility buses were apprehended by LTO after being unable to show special permits issued to them, allowing them to travel for the Holy Week. Jamie Marie Elona, INQUIRER.net
