Fireworks-related injuries rise to 36 with 4 new cases in PH — DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday said four new firework-related injuries were reported in the country from December 28 to 29, bringing the number to 36, which was recorded from December 21 to 29.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday said four new fireworks-related injuries were reported in the country from December 28 to 29, bringing the number to 36, in addition to what had been recorded from December 21 to 29.

Only 25 cases were reported in the same period last year, making the current number higher by 44 percent than in 2021.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. urged local government units to designate a common area for the fireworks display to discourage individual locals from lighting their fireworks, thus, reducing firecracker-related injuries.
