Marcos names ex-SC associate justice Tinga as DBP chair
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed Dante Osorio Tinga, a former Supreme Court justice, as the new chair of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil, the officer in charge of the Office of the Press Secretary, confirmed the appointment when asked about it on Thursday.
She said Tinga took his oath before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Thursday.
Tiñga served as SC associate justice from 2003 to 2009. He was appointed by then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He served as dean of the Univerity of the East College of Law from 1989 to 1993 and again from 2017 to 2018.
