Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo D Lumagui Jr., together with the legal and revenue officers from BIR Revenue Region  No. 7A – Quezon City headed by Regional Director Mahinardo G. Mailig and Assistant Regional Director Renato N. Molina, recently seized voluminous falsified receipts, invoices, and other business documents issued to various individuals and companies.

By virtue of reliable information, a Mission Order was issued to Brenterprise International, Inc., located in a condominium unit in Eastwood, Quezon City, for the conduct of surveillance for any violation of the National Internal Revenue Code.

This has led to the discovery of thousands of booklets of receipts, invoices, and other business documents in the name of the company’s clients from all over the country, several of which are among those identified as Cannot Be Located (CBL) Taxpayers by the BIR.

Lumagui added.

The BIR chief appraised that these CBL taxpayers who utilized these falsified receipts have outstanding tax liabilities amounting to approximately Php45 billion.

Finally, Lumagui warned the public that they might get into trouble by buying fake and falsified receipts.

“Kayo naman mga bumibili ng mga pekeng resibo, tigil-tigilan nyo na yan dahil hindi nyo rin yan magagamit as deductions at maipapakulong din namin kayo,” he said.
