MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, is forecast to bring overcast skies with light rain showers in several areas of Luzon on Wednesday, December 14, the state weather bureau said.

Specifically, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that weather conditions might prevail over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon, including Polilio Island, because of the northeast monsoon or cold winds blowing from Siberia.

The northeast monsoon will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains in the Ilocos Region.

As for Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Pagasa said weather would be generally good in these areas, although partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may also be expected to occur.

Pagasa raised no gale warning over the country’s seaboards.
