DICT Undersecretary Salazar resigns

MANILA, Philippines — Undersecretary Jose Vicente Salazar is no longer connected with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) following his resignation.

Salazar stepped down from his post as DICT undersecretary for policy and legal affairs last November 30, citing the “delicate health situation and challenges” of his wife, according to his resignation letter dated November 23.

The letter was read on Tuesday before the Commission on Appointments’ committee information and communications technology deliberating on DICT Secretary Ivan John Enrile Uy’s nomination.

According to Uy, Salazar joined the agency last July.

Uy then informed the body that Salazar had already tendered his resignation.

Eventually, the DICT chief furnished the committee with a copy of the letter.
