Team Bravo nips Charlie, grabs lead in CEKALCO basketball

TEAM Bravo scored a come-from-behind overtime win over Team Charlie, 104-97, Saturday night for its third win in four games to grab the early lead from Team Echo which lost to Team Delta, 92-77 in the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO) 2012 First Conference basketball tournament at the A. Lopez open court.

Charlie dominated Bravo in the first three periods and even posted an 18-point lead, 69-51, entering the final quarter. However, Bravo outscored Charlie in the fourth, 32-14 and tied the count at 83-all in regulation to send the game into overtime.

In the extension period, Bravo buried Charlie, 21-14 for the seven-point victory.

Fritz Desoyo and Nelson Solana led Team Bravo with 29 and 23 points, respectively while Tenio Billiones and Michael Castro combined for 33 points. Marvin Ensong and Tiks Gacho paced Charlie with 24 and 20 markers, respectively

Earlier, Delta dominated Echo from start to finish, 92-77, to post identical 3-2 records.

Edwin Lazaga and Julius Gutierez fired 21 and 18 points, respectively for Delta, while Nolet Tabasa and Raul Cabalda paced the losing Echo with 22 and 15 points, respectively.
