Olongapo City sees uptick in COVID-19 cases

For three consecutive days, the number of active COVID-19 cases in this city was on an upward trend, local data showed Friday (Oct. 7)

OLONGAPO CITY — For three consecutive days, the number of active COVID-19 cases in this city was on an upward trend, local data showed Friday (Oct. 7)

According to the local task force, eight new COVID-19 infections were added to its tally on Thursday. The figure was higher than the previous day when it recorded six new cases.

Thursday’s number of new infections was the highest in the past few weeks. The active COVID-19 cases on the same day rose to 35, an increase from 28 the previous day.

The city did not record any new recoveries or deaths on Thursday.

A total of 7,437 COVID-19 cases have already been registered in the city since the pandemic struck in 2020. Of this figure, at least 7,041 had recovered while 360 had died of the viral disease. INQ
