Reproduction number also increased from 1.10 to 1.40, but David noted that the average daily attack rate (Adar) is still considered low at 2.18 per 100,000 population.

Both healthcare utilization and intensive care unit (ICU) occupancy, on the other hand, also remained low at 30 and 17 percent, respectively.

“Pangasinan remained at low risk but the rise in cases must be monitored,” said David.

This came just a few days after a spike in COVID-19 cases was also observed in Rizal province with its one week growth rate at 47 percent.

As of Sep. 13, the country currently has 24,502 active infections of COVID-19, based on the Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracker.
