MANILA, Philippines — An alleged member of the Abu Sayaff Group (ASG), considered as the most wanted person in the country, was arrested in Zamboanga City, a Philippine National Police spokesman said Friday.

In a belated report, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said Abdulwahab Hamja a.k.a Amja, 42, was arrested by authorities at Barangay (village) Recodo, Zamboanga City around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

He said he was charged with kidnapping and six counts of serious illegal detention under the leadership of late ASG Commander Galib Andang a.k.a Commander Robot.
