MANILA, Philippines—Parts of the country will still experience rains due to a low pressure area on Friday, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over Palawan and the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Meanwhile, Visayas and Western Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while the rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

In its 5p.m. bulletin, Pagasa said the low pressure area was seen 130 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa City.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Palawan and Mindanao and coming from the east to southeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough, it added.
