Pagasa warns of slides, floods in Bicol, Visayas
The weather bureau on Wednesday warned people of widespread rain over the Bicol Region and Western Visayas, which may bring landslides and flashfloods, as a low pressure area churns off Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the low pressure area was 220 kilometers southeast of Puerto Princesa, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said residents of low-lying areas and along mountains slopes should be on their guard for flashfloods and landslides triggered by rain.
Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Western Mindanao would experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, it said. The rest of the country would be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Coastal waters throughout the archipelago would be moderate to rough, it added. Leila B. Salaverria
