German fugitive nabbed in Romblon

Man wanted for attempted homicide nabbed in Olongapo

CITY OF CALAPAN—Authorities arrested a German fugitive during a police operation in Ferrol town, Romblon province, police in Mimaropa said Friday, August 19.

Oliver Markus Janich, 53, was captured on Wednesday afternoon at his temporary residence in Tablas Seaview Resort in Barangay Hinag-oman.

The police said a court in Munich, Germany had issued a warrant of arrest against Janich, who is facing a charge of public incitement to commit criminal offenses in violation of the German Penal Code.

FEATURED STORIES

The German Embassy in Manila said Janich was an undesirable alien, and posed a risk to public safety and security due to his being a fugitive from justice.

Janich’s passport is also under revocation by the German authorities.

He will be turned over to the Bureau of Immigration Warden Facility after booking and documentation. INQ
