Cyclist dies in Naga City highway accident

P3.4 million 'shabu' seized in Naga City

LEGAZPI CITY — A cyclist died in an accident along Maharlika Highway in Naga City on Friday.

Police Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, identified the victim as Manuelito Senson, 46, a resident of Canaman town.

Initial investigation showed that Senson was traveling on the shoulder of the road when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Joel Perlado, 44, at around 5:45 p.m.

Perlado’s vehicle sideswiped a car before hitting and running over the cyclist.

Senson sustained serious injuries and was taken brought to hospital but was declared dead at around 6:10p.m.

Bongon said Perlado admitted that he was drunk.

Perlado is now under police custody as  will face a formal complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
