The Department of Foreign Affairs has designated career diplomat Ma. Teresita Daza as the agency’s spokesperson. Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo said Daza has nearly three decades of experience, most recently served as ambassador to Chile, with concurrent jurisdiction over Ecuador and Peru. She was also ambassador to India and Nepal and served as chargé d’affaires and deputy permanent representative to the Association of Southean Asian Nations in Jakarta. “I am humbled by this new role and assignment. With the guidance of Secretary Manalo, I hope to assist in the articulation of our country’s position on various foreign policy issues, while keeping the media abreast with the work of our department,” Daza said in a statement. —TINA G.
