Initial report said Dela Cruz was inside their small house in Sitio (sub-village) Hacienda when the soil in the area, softened by heavy rain which poured Friday night, July 8, came sliding down a nearby hill at around 8 a.m.

The victim was immediately retrieved by police and members of municipal disaster risk reduction management council.

Police did not say how the victim’s two children escaped the landslide.
