QC lawmaker seeks realignment of skills training

MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas has asked the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) to realign its training programs with the needs of key industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism.

In a statement, Vargas proposed that Tesda refocus its skills training programs on the job generation targets of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.

“We need to align the needs of key industries like manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism with the level of skills and training of workers,” Vargas said.
