LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—At least 16 more cases were added to the COVID-19 tally in the Ilocos region from May 29 to June 1, the regional Department of Health said on Tuesday, June 7.
The new cases were 54 percent lower than those reported the week before, with 35 new patients, said the DOH.
The daily average number of COVID-19 cases dipped to two compared with five in the previous week, said the DOH.
Of the active cases, two were admitted to hospital facilities for treatment after being tagged as severe and critical.
Data also showed that at least 46, or 20 percent of the 230 ICU (intensive care unit) beds dedicated to COVID-19 patients are in use. At least 166, or 11 percent of the 1,536 non-ICU beds, are occupied.
The DOH also verified 152 deaths due to COVID-19 in the past week.
