Over P3.4M ‘shabu’ seized in Bicol buy-busts
LEGAZPI CITY––Anti-narcotics operatives arrested three suspected drug personalities and seized more than P3.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations on Thursday, June 2, in Albay and Camarines Sur.
Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson for the Bicol police, said in a report that Deverly Rubia, 23, and Lea Gomez, 33, were arrested in Barangay Sto. Cristo in Tabaco City in Albay at 7:58 p.m.
Authorities recovered a medium-sized sachet of shabu worth P1,000 from the suspects.
In Camaligan town in Camarines Sur, authorities arrested Alex Garol, 47, in an operation at around 5:45 a.m. in Barangay Dugcal.
Calubaquib said Garol sold five grams of shabu worth P34,000 to an undercover agent.
Authorities also confiscated two bags of shabu weighing 500 grams worth about P3.4 million and a .22-caliber revolver loaded with five live bullets. INQ
