MANILA, Philippines — No low pressure area (LPA) or tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country, but the state weather bureau said that cloudy skies with rains may persist over Northern and Central Luzon through the weekend due to the southwest monsoon or habagat.

Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon showed cloud bands moving in from the western seaboards of Luzon to the northern parts like Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and some parts of Central Luzon.

For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Pagasa said that fair weather may occur in the coming days but isolated rains may prevail every afternoon.

Metro Manila would be slightly hotter at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, Tagaytay at 23 to 29 degrees, Puerto Princesa at 26 to 32 degrees, and Legazpi with 26 to 33 degrees.

Weather over Mindanao would be fair although isolated rains and thunderstorms may be felt in different areas.  Temperatures over Davao and Tacloban would play around 25 to 32 degrees, 26 to 32 degrees in Cebu, 26 to 31 degrees in Iloilo, 25 to 31 degrees in Cagayan de Oro, and 25 to 33 degrees in Zamboanga.

No gale warning has been raised, although sea condition on the waters west of Luzon would be moderate, due to the southwest monsoon.  For the rest of the country, sea condition would be slight to moderate.
