German national arrested in Makati for fraud in home country
MANILA, Philippines — A German national wanted for fraud in his home country was arrested in Makati City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Thursday.
BI commissioner Jaime Morente said 47-year-old Alexander Herr, who also uses the alias Kai Michael Konig, was arrested on Wednesday.
According to BI Makati extension office chief Maria Rhodora Abrazaldo, Herr attempted to extend his visa at their office.
Upon inspection of his documents, however, it was discovered that his name is on a watchlist.
Abrazaldo said Herr was the subject of a deportation case issued a day before his arrest, filed immediately after the BI received official communication from German authorities regarding his crimes.

Article continues after this advertisementCiting records, BI said that Herr has a standing arrest warrant issued by the German Public Prosecutor’s Office in Darmstadt in 2015 for attempted fraud.
Further, BI said Herr was also the subject of an Interpol diffusion alert.
BI said Herr is temporarily detained at the BI facility in Bicutan, Taguig pending his deportation. Once deported, he will face three years imprisonment in Germany.
