PNP finally COVID-19 free for the 1st time

MANILA, Philippines — For the first time since the pandemic started, the Philippine National Police has reported zero active cases of COVID-19.
The PNP Health Service reported on Tuesday it also did not log new COVID-19 cases, after a steady downtrend in cases in recent days.
Since the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the PNP has recorded a total of 48,861 confirmed cases. Of this, 48,693 or 99.65 percent had recovered, while 128 had died.
“Suffice it to say the PNP COVID-19 curve has significantly flattened with currently no new cases and zero active cases. Consistent with the prevailing national trend of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, PNP active cases dropped sharply in February after it peaked at 4,964 on January 14, 2022, a day after it logged 547 new cases,” said Gen. Dionardo Carlos, chief of the PNP.
According to the PNP, 99.59 percent of the entire PNP workforce were fully vaccinated, while 96.43 percent received a booster shot.
