MANILA, Philippines — Three people remain missing after the truck they were riding plunged into a river in Cagayan province before dawn Thursday, a Philippine National Police official said.

Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said that an Isuzu Elf truck (WST 172) driven by Ismael Soriano was traveling along the overflow bridge in Capatan Tuguegarao with his four passengers around 4 a.m. when the truck accidentally fell from the bridge and dived into the Pinacanauan River.

Cruz said Soriano and one of his passengers identified as Alejandro Agdepa survived while the other three riders identified as Arnold Desiar, Jay-Ar Lacsina and certain “Mayo” remain missing as of posting time.
