Leni-Kiko rally in Pampanga to share warmth of Kapampangan hospitality
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Supporters of presidential and vice-presidential candidates Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan are giving a taste of Kapampangan hospitality in so many ways, including serving 1,000 kilograms of the pork dish sisig in the tandem’s April 9 election campaign rally in this city.
The Pampanga rally, dubbed “Manalakaran” (Standing Up), is also having the “biggest stage, the greatest number of artists and world-class talents,” according to Erwin Nucum, who is in charge of the program in the rally organized by the Robredo-Pangilinan People’s Council in Pampanga.
The venue is more than two hectares of a vacant lot behind the Robinsons Starmills mall.
“We will not be after the number of attendees. We will rather be after the experience itself, the warmth of Kapampangan hospitality, the deep spirit of pamiambagan volunteerism, and bayanihan at its best. This is the true character of the Filipino,” he told the INQUIRER on Friday.
He said three local festivals would be held at the rally.
Nadine Lustre was reported to be hosting or appearing in the program. The Pangilinan family is said to be coming in “full force.”

“Ito ang pinakabusog na rally. Ito ang may pinakamarami ring bilang ng mga portalets,” Nucum added.
Volunteers are also doing free T-shirt printing of slogans for Robredo and Pangilinan. Three giant lanterns will also be lit during the rally.
In Angeles City, volunteers crafted handmade lantern necklaces. They also prepared mini hot-air balloons. INQ
