PH registers 2,679 new COVID-19 cases from March 28-April 3

MANILA, Philippines — The coronavirus hit 2,679 more people from March 28-April 3, the weekly COVID-19 bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) showed Monday.

According to the DOH, the latest number of additional infections translates to an average of 382  people getting sick from the coronavirus each day last week – which the agency said is 2 percent lower than the recorded daily average of 389 new cases from March 21-27.

Of the 2,679 fresh cases, the DOH added, only one was experiencing severe and critical symptoms.

Also, the DOH reported that it has verified the death of 329 COVID-19 patients from March 28 to April 3.

The Department of Health (DOH) reports on Monday, April 4, 2022, that COVID-19 hit 2,679 more people from March 28-April 3.

As for healthcare utilization nationwide, it said that last week had a rate of 16.7 percent in non-intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients and 16.5 percent in ICU beds. The use of ICU beds dedicated to COVID-19 patients was at 15.1 percent the week before.

The DOH likewise noted a decrease in the number of severe and critical COVID-19 patients from 758 to 692 in the last seven days.

The sum of fully vaccinated people against COVID-19 also increased to more than 66 million from March 28-April 3, which represents 73.47 percent of the target population, while 12.1 million people received their booster doses in the same period.

The DOH said 485,128 people completed their COVID-19 vaccine doses and 329,164 got their booster shots from March 28 to April 3.
