Shabu worth P1.36M seized in Mandaue City bust; suspect nabbed

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday reported the seizure of P1.36 million worth of “shabu” (crystal methamphetamine) and the arrest of a  48-year-old drug suspect during a bust in Mandaue, City in Cebu.

The PNP in a report identified the suspect as Bernabe Ramis Jabon. He was arrested on Saturday after a drug-bust operation was conducted by Mandaue local police in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

Authorities were able to confiscate 15 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu” estimated to be worth P1,360,000.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos in a statement said the suspect will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

“The police are currently looking into the transaction link of the suspect. This calls for further probe. Let me thank the police operatives for doing their job well,” Carlos said.
