6 key Mindanao cities at low risk for COVID-19 — OCTA
MANILA, Philippines — Six highly-urbanized cities (HUCs) in Mindanao are currently at low risk status for COVID-19, while Cagayan de Oro remains at moderate risk, independent analytics group OCTA Research said Thursday.
Based on the data shared by OCTA Research fellow Guido David on Twitter, the cities of Butuan, Cotabato, Davao, General Santos, Iligan, and Zamboanga are currently at low risk status for COVID-19.
OCTA Research uses the metrics of US nonprofit COVID Act Now in classifying risk levels, which are different from metrics of the Department of Health.
OCTA Research reported that the average daily attack rate (ADAR) is very low risk in Cotabato (0.32), low risk in Butuan (1.48), General Santos (1.35), Iligan (1.17), and Zamboanga (1.87), and moderate risk in Cagayan de Oro (2.67), and Davao (2.24).
ADAR is the average number of new COVID-19 cases per day per 100,000 population in an area.
