Abandoned bag yields assorted bullets in Masbate

LEGAZPI CITY – Police recovered Friday assorted bullets inside an abandoned bag in Dimasalang town in Masbate province.

Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, the Bicol police spokesperson, said in a report that while the police officers were on a mobile patrol operation at 10:56 a.m., they were informed by a resident about the abandoned black bag and helmet in Barangay G. Alino.

The police immediately checked the area and found the bag containing two steel magazines for carbine loaded with six bullets, 143 bullets for carbine, seven bullets for .22-caliber pistol, 17 bullets for a 12-gauge shotgun, a tape recorder, assorted books, and other personal belongings.

Calubaquib said further investigation was underway to determine the owner of the bag.
