Pampanga Catholic lay leaders endorse Leni, Kiko
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga—A group of Catholic lay leaders in less than 100 parishes under the Archdiocese of San Fernando in Pampanga province has endorsed the presidential and vice-presidential candidacies of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis Pangilinan in the May 9 elections
The position of Laikko-Pampanga was a result of “a week of prayer, study, dialogue, and reflection” from Jan. 19 to 26, according to James Jesus Pasamonte, the group’s lead convenor.
The statement was also signed by Banjo Serrano, president of the Archdiocesan Council of the Laity.
“We conducted an in-depth analysis of each candidate’s trustworthiness based on his character, competence, commitment, and compliance to the rule of law according to their track records, pronouncements, and platform of governance,” Laikko said in the Jan. 28 letter released Tuesday.
It added: “We looked into their position and their understanding and capacity to respond to different issues.”
