2-meter snake cause brownout in Iligan City
ILIGAN CITY—A two-meter long snake climbed into a power line in this city, causing a trip off that caused a brownout lasting over an hour on Wednesday.
Elizabeth Ladaga, the community relations specialist of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, said the unscheduled power interruption affected the entire city starting at 9:11 a.m.
Power was restored at around 10:45 a.m.
Ladaga said the “snake intrusion” happened at a structure in Barangay Sta. Elena.
An NGCP official said they suspected that the snake climbed through the guy wire and touched the conductor wire, which caused it to trip off.
