BuCor sacks 2 Bilibid officials over prison break

One of the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who escaped the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) early Monday died, the Muntinlupa police said.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) sacked two officials of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City after four inmates managed to bolt out of the national penitentiary.

Sacked were Supt. Arnold Guzman, the superintendent of the NBP maximum security compound, and Senior Insp. Israel Basi, the NBP commander of guards.

Authorities are still hunting down Drakilou Falcon and Chris Ablas, who were among the four prisoners who broke out of the NBP on Jan. 17.
