DOLE, PGH teaming up to manage for PH’s first hospital for OFWs
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Philippine General Hospital will team up in managing the Philippines’ first hospital for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“I’m glad that the state’s leading research and medical center is supporting the OFW Hospital. With PGH on our side, what could possibly go wrong?” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said in a statement on Sunday.
“In serving the health needs of our modern-day heroes, we need the champion in saving lives,” he added.
Based on the memorandum of understanding which was signed in San Fernando, Pampanga on Friday, PGH will assist the OFW Hospital in training of clinical and administrative personnel, planning and acquisition of hospital equipment, and formulation of clinical and fiscal process flow.
Article continues after this advertisementPGH will likewise guide in the electronic medical record and hospital information system creation and the planning of infrastructure layout in relation to clinical services.
The 100-bed OFW Hospital is scheduled to be completed in March.
