DOTr exec loses jewelry, cash to thief
MANILA, Philippines — Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary Goddes Libiran on Saturday reported the loss of her jewelry and cash. The items she reported, were stolen by a recently hired house helper.
“Shout out sa bagong maid ko na nagpaalam lang na bibili ng bawang at sibuyas sa labas kaninang 1:30 p.m, pero hindi na bumalik!” said Libiran on a Facebook post.
(Shout out to my new maid who just said she will buy garlic and onion outside at 1:30 p.m, but never came back.)
In a Facebook post, Libiran said she first left her house to get her COVID-19 booster shot, but then found all her jewelry and cash gone upon arriving home.
“Iba ka, Manang. Nagmalasakit pa akong ipagamot ka kahapon dahil sa sakit mo, tapos ganito lang gagawin mo sa pamilya ko? Ibang klase ka,” Libiran said.

“To my friends in the NBI and the Police Force, please help me find this person… To the agency, may pananagutan kayo dito, exhaust all efforts to find this person,” she added.
Meanwhile, in a follow-up post, Libiran shared a screenshot of her conversation with the agency she hired the house helper from.
“You better make sure na wala kayong kinalaman dito ha. Or else, pakakasuhan ko rin kayo. Hindi ninyo ini-iscreen ng maayos. Iba ang pangalan sa mga ipinasa ninyong dokumento,” she told the agency.
(You better make sure you have nothing to do with this. Or else, I will sue you too. You did not screen her properly. The names in the documents you submitted are different.)
The agency, however, only responded with “OK.”
Inquirer.net has reached out to the agency for a comment but has yet to reply as of writing.
