Scattered rains, cloudy skies to prevail over PH due to amihan — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or amihan will bring light to scattered rains in many parts of the country on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

“Sa kasalukuyan, northeast monsoon o amihan ang umiiral sa buong bahagi ng ating bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said in a public weather forecast.

(At present, the northeast monsoon is prevailing in the entire country.)

“Asahan pa din natin ‘yung mga tiyansa ng mahihinang pag-ulan dito sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon, maging ‘yung mga tiyansa din po ng mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan sa silangang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao,” Castañeda added.

(Expect chances of light rains in eastern parts of Luzon, as well as chances of scattered rains in eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao.)

Pagasa said the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains in Bicol Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon, while Eastern Visayas, Caraga region and Davao region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the said weather system.

Also under the prevailing northeast monsoon, fair weather is expected in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, which will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

Meanwhile, Pagasa raised gale warning in several seaboards nationwide due to the northeast monsoon.

The seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon will experience rough to very rough sea condition with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves, while the seaboards of Southern Luzon, mainland Palawan, the entire visas and the northern, western, and eastern seaboards of Mindanao are expected to have rough sea condition with 2.8 to 4.0 meters of waves.
