Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY––A 30-year-old female pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident Wednesday night, Dec. 29, in this city, police said.

Juvy Ann Belo, a sales clerk, was with a male companion when a white van hit her as they were crossing a section of the diversion road in Barangay Domoit around 10:30 p.m., the Quezon police said in a report.

The van sped away after the incident.

The victim suffered grave body injuries and was rushed to Lucena United Doctor Hospital but died along the way, the police said.

Her companion was unharmed, the report added.

The police were still searching for video footage from closed-circuit television cameras in the area to identify the suspect’s vehicle, the report said.
