Shabu worth P1.8M seized from 4 drug suspects in Albay
LEGAZPI CITY––About P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) was seized Tuesday from four members of a Manila-based illegal drug group in Polangui, Albay, the police reported Wednesday.
The illegal drug group members were arrested after selling 50 grams of shabu worth P100,000 to an undercover agent.
They were identified as Celmel John Lapiz, 27, and Charmaine Erlandez, 33, both from Los Baños, Laguna; and Ronald Mendoza, 50, and Rosemarie Diana Adap, 37, both from Batangas City, Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said.
Seized from the suspects were 275 grams of shabu worth P1.8 million.
The buy-bust operation was conducted in Barangay Kinale around 12:30 a.m., Tuesday.
The report said the arrested suspects supply illegal drug substances in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) and Bicol regions.
The suspects were detained at the town police jail and face charges for possession, distribution, and trading of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
