PH gets China’s donation of 2 million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 jab

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines received China’s donation of two million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.

Philippine Airlines flight PR359 transported the donated doses which landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 around 5 p.m.

This is the third batch of delivery this day. As of posting, two more are scheduled to arrive within the day, according to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19.

Earlier, 1.5 million Moderna and 945,600 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine doses were delivered to the country. This batch consists of vaccine donations from France, Spain, and the Netherlands.

The NTF said the country is expecting the delivery of around eight million donated COVID-19 vaccine doses on Tuesday, the biggest shipment in a single day.

As of Monday evening, the country already received a total of 158,540,170 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines since deliveries began in February.
