The body of a street gang member, believed to have been the victim of summary execution, was stuffed inside a sack before it was dumped before dawn Saturday at a street corner in Manila.

When found, the body’s hands and feet had been bound while his face was wound with packaging tape, a plastic handcuff was in his grip, while a piece of galvanized iron was looped around his neck.

Police described the victim to be between 35 and 40 years old, five-foot-seven tall, slim, dark-skinned, and clad in a white sleeveless shirt worn over a pair of light green underwear. He sported a Batang City Jail tattoo on his left knee.

PO3 Rodel Benitez, case investigator, revealed that the body was discovered at around 4:30 a.m. by scavenger Mela Realtor at the corner of Donada and P. Ocampo Streets, Barangay 719 Zone 8 in Malate. Jeannette I. Andrade
