Woman survives bolo attack

A FEMALE college student was hacked with a bolo by a man who may be mentally disturbed in Sibonga town, southern Cebu.

Jayche Sarnillo, 18, sustained hack wounds in the head and right shoulder.

The woman told police Richelieu Suico attacked her with a bolo without warning when she walked past his house in barangay Poblacion.
Police arrested Suico in his home about 15 minutes later.

Suico’s parents told police that the man was suffering from a mental illness.

The student  was  walking to the  Sibonga Community College when she was attacked past 9 a.m. yesterday.

A wounded Sarnillo ran and sought help from residents, who rushed the woman to the hospital.

At the police station, Suico told investigators that he hacked the woman for making fun at him.
