Son of Cagayan de Oro lawmaker Rolando Uy, aide shot dead
ILIGAN CITY––The son of Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rolando Uy was shot dead Thursday afternoon, along with his aide, the police said.
A spot report from the Pagatpat Police Station in Cagayan de Oro City identified the victims as Roland Sherwin Uy, 45, and Samuel Pabalan, 73.
The shooting happened around 1 p.m. at Zone 1 in Barangay Pagatpat.
Uy is a member of the Barangay Council of Carmen.
Rubie Alayuay, Uy’s driver, told police investigators that he was inside the comfort room when he heard Uy talking with an unidentified person, who purportedly asked to buy sand and gravel.
Next, he heard gunshots. Out of fear, he hid inside the comfort room.
Article continues after this advertisementAlayuay said he heard the sound of a motorcycle leaving the place after the gunfire.
Police found Uy lying on a folding chair with a gunshot wound on his left eye while Pabalan, a caretaker of the place, was sprawled on the ground with a gunshot wound on his right eye.
